Phone Theft In RRS Net, Pleads Leniency
Around 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) arrested Adepoju Alaba, 46 years old, for trying to dispossess a motorist of his mobile phone, wallet and international passport in Anthony.
The car of the complainant broke down in the area while he was running to the international Airport with his wife. Adepoju and an accomplice, now at large, while assisting the man tried to dispossess him of his valuables.
The motorist, on sighting RRS operatives who were on distress call to Mile 2, flagged them down. One of the suspects was arrested while the other escaped.
The operatives assisted the motorist and his wife to repair their vehicle and ensured they proceeded on their journey before heading to Mile 2.
The suspect has confessed and pleaded for leniency. He has been charged to court.
