17th day of September of every year has come to stay as the EZEOKPOKO 1 EZE NDIGBO of Ijegun/ Ijedodo area of Ikotun, Lagos state HRM CC NWOKEDI set the area ablazed with funs and entertainment at the second annual IWAJI Festival .
IWAJI Festival according to EZE Nwokedi, Queen UGOEZE Nwokedi ( ADA - KA- ADA 1 of Ijegun/ Ijedodo and other guests at the event who had brief interview with INSIGHT GLOBAL NEWS revealed is the celebration of emergence of new yam and AUGUST visit which as been Igbo tradition of ages. It was further explained that is a taboo for anyone to eat yam which is belief to be the king of the forest if the EZE have not done the rites and pronounced it edible as it was done at EZE NDIGBO of Ijegun Ijedodo's palace..
It was a gathering of illustrious Igbo sons and daughters in Nigeria as well across the globe as EZE NWOKEDI honours some with befitting chieftain tittles , gives awards to deligent police officers, Igbos brethrens like Hon. Nonso and non indigenes in the likes of Prince Olasunkanmi Ismail and others
AIG Mohammed Ali of Zone 2 , Onikan who was a special guest do not only presented awards to deligent police officers but also gave words of encouragement of ' To whom much is given , much is expected ' as AIG ALI praised HRM EZE CC NWOKEDI for his kind gestures and humanitarian acts towards all that came across him , as it will be recalled recently of EZE NWOKEDI's unvailing a health center that will cater for any patient with lack of fund.
AIG Zone 2 wishes Eze a happy fruitful festival and best wishes in all his endeavour.
At EZE NDIGBO of Ijegun Ijedodo' 2nd IWAJI annual Festival were his faithful cabinets, EZEs NDIGBO too numerous to mention among which was Eze Monday of Mushin- Odiolowo, Eze Nicholas of Ejigbo, EZEs from Ikorodu, Lekki and other areas of Lagos and across the country .
