 Our most Revered Royal Father, _*the Olofin Apesin Olode, Olota of Otta, Awori Kingdom, His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege Ph.D, MCIPR, MPRII, FHEA (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode)*_ has advocated for the construction of Primary Health Care centres across palaces in Nigeria in order to bring good health care delivery more closer to the people. 


Olota said this on Tuesday, 23rd August 2022 during a quarterly review meeting of South West Traditional Leaders' Committee on Primary Healthcare Delivery under the Chairmanship of _*Olofin Adimula, Oonirisa, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Babatunde Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II*_ , held at Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheratton Hotel, Abuja.


The Minister of Health, _*Dr Osagie Ehanire*_ in his remarks, commended the Southwest traditional rulers for agreeing to partner with the government on Primary health care delivery and for their passion and commitment to ensure the wellbeing of Nigerians, especially people in their various domain.


According to Honourable Minister Ehanire, the Southwest States in COVID-19 vaccination is suboptimal stressing that bringing the influence of the traditional leaders to bear on the situation can change the narrative in the region.


The Chairman of the Southwest Traditional Leaders Committee, the _*Olofin Adimula, Oonirisa, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II*_ in his remarks said it is about time traditional leaders took drastic steps to address health care issues at the local level.


On behalf of South West Traditional rulers, His Imperial Majesty appreciated the kind gesture of the Federal Government, describing it as a good opportunity to intensify community mobilisation on vaccine-preventable diseases that would result in improved wellbeing of the people.


Concluding, Kabiesi Oonirisa urged all members to ensure that advocacy and sensitisation on the benefits of immunisation and other PHC services are taken to rural communities among others.


The Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), _*Dr Faisal Shuaib*_ said government expect that the meeting will adopt an operational guide for members’ support to PHC programs and interventions such as COVID-19 vaccination, polio, measles, yellow fever, rotavirus, and others.


During the interactive session, Kabiyesi Olota thanked His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife for his remarkable style of leadership, and for his passion for the wellbeing of all sons and daughters of Oduduwa. Furtherance to this, he made a case for the construction of primary health care centres at Palaces in ensuring quick service delivery to the people at the grassroots. His Majesty reaffirm his commitment in deference to achieving the core objectives of Primary Healthcare.


In company of Kabiyesi Olota is a distinguished member of Olota-in-Council, the Seriki of Otta, Awori Kingdom, High Chief Olanrewaju Taofeeq Abayomi Bashorun.
