Frustration, Lack of Parental Care Made My Husband Jummped Into The Lagoon Wife Speaks

Sofiat Amusa, wife of a 25-year-old man who committed suicide by diving into lagoon in Epe, attributed his late husband’s death to frustration, depression and lack of parental care.
Amusa disclosed during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, in Epe, on Friday.
She said that the ugly incident that claimed her husband’s life occurred at around 7:15am on Tuesday.
She noted that her husband had parably notified the family with frightening goodbye messages, instructing his parents to take care of his wife and his 11month old baby girl.
The 21-year-old wife said that both of them are not legally married but have been known as spouse to both parents.
“We lived together before his demise but he has been acting strangely for couple of days before his death.
“I complained about his strange behaviours to his parent but they ignored not until his death.
“Lack of parental care, depression and frustration of not been attended to by his parents, led his death, ” she said.
“Myself and my husband are December born, my husband was born in December 1st. I was as well born in December 22nd, “We celebrates our Birthday together every 22nd December.
“My late husand studied Quantity Survey in Lagos Polythecnic (Laspotech) he was an OND holder.
Amusa appealed to all Nigerians to come to her rescue for support to take care of the innocent baby her husband left behind.
“I can’t take care of the baby girl alone, I need help from philanthropists, NGOs and other well-meaning Nigerians.
“I am learning tailoring, I don’t collect salary, I have been surviving with my husband salary before his death now that he is late, I have nothing to fall back to it for a living.
“My late husband worked at Alaro city in Epe which we have been surviving with his monthly salaries, I need help from Nigerians to train the baby to a university level, ” she said.
On Tuesday, December, 14th 2021, 21- year old, Odunare Olalekan, took his life by diving into the lagoon in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State.
In a viral video, Olalekan, who was seen sitting on the handrail of a bridge, suddenly jumped into Lagoon around Berger Bridge, Epe.
