COLLAPSED MORO BRIDGE: COMMUTERS APPEAL TO THE STATE GOVERNMENT FOR QUICK INTERVENTION

Actualisation Team was, yesterday, at the popular Moro bridged that is currently in a near-collapsed state.

Located near Oko Olowo area of Ilorin, the bridge serves both intra and interstate functions. As it links ilorin west local government with Kaiama and Baruten local government, it also connects Kwara and Oyo State. 

Mallam Abdullahi Mahmud, a staff of National Union of Road Transport Worker (NURTW) who spoke with us lamented that the bridge had been in the awful condition for a very long time and seriously hampering people's movement.

He said the bridge is very important, as it serves as a major entrepot for the supply of food and other agricultural produce from Kaiama and Baruten local government areas to the city of Ilorin.

He therefore appealed to the state and federal government for quick intervention, as it is becoming more difficult for the users who ply the bridge.
