OGUN AWORI OBAS FORUM ADOPT IGANMODE CULTURAL FESTIVAL, TO JOINTLY HOST THE 2023 EDITION

The Ogun Awori Monarchs, under the aegis of the Awori Obas Forum, Ogun State, at their monthly meeting held November 9, 2023, at Olota's Palace, unanimously resolved to adopt and jointly host this year's Iganmode Cultural Festival, scheduled to take place between December 11 and 16, 2023.
During the session, the Monarchs declared total support for the hosting of the 2023 edition to compliment the efforts of the Ogun State Government under the administration of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, who has approved the inclusion of the festival in the State Festival Calendar to showcase the rich Awori cultural values and norms and to project further the great identity of the Aworis in the state and beyond.
The Chairman of the Forum, HM Oba Professor Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege, welcomed the developments and equally appreciated his colleagues for the adoption. "The adoption of the Iganmode Cultural Festival by Ogun Oba's Forum will indeed go a long way to solidify our sub-nation and promote brotherhood for the sake of our identity." His Majesty added, "Without any doubt, our unity is indisputable and cannot be undermined or diluted despite the hospitable and cosmopolitan nature of Aworiland in sustaining its status as the economic hub of Ogun State.
The Distinguished Royal Fathers at the well-attended meeting include: the Deputy Chairman, Ogun Awori Obas Forum; HRM Oba Abdulazeez Akinde FCA (Oloja Ekun of Igbesa, Awori Kingdom); HRM Oba Adedayo Shyllon Sogbulu (Alagbado of Agbado, Awori Kingdom); HRM Oba Ademola Musiliu Eletu Ashorota (Onitele of Itele Otta, Awori Kingdom); HRM Oba Abdulwasiu Ogungbayi (Onitetiku of Owode Otta, Awori Kingdom); HRM Oba (Engr.) Nurudeen Osoja Ph.D. (Onikogbo of Ikogbo, Awori Kingdom); HRM Oba (Barr.) L.J. Agunbiade LL.M. (Alagbara of Agbara, Awori Kingdom).

Speaking on the resolution, the Central Planning Committee Chairman, a renowned I.T. expert, Chief Temitayo Idowu (Otun Bobagunwa of Otta, Awori Kingdom), commended the royal figures for the decision taken in the interest of the Aworis and for the courage exhibited through the adoption, as it will foster unity among the ancient towns and villages across the Awori Kingdom.
"This year's event shall be uniquely different as the rich Awori culture as exemplified by Awori Obas in Ogun State will be showcased", he concluded.
