By Oluwatoyin Mathnuel
For the physically and visually impaired , small-scale business and medium owners, September 22, 2023, marked an exceptional milestone. It was the best Business Summit and Fair Exhibition since its inception four years ago. Sen. Anthony Adefuye offered hope to over 60 physically challenged Nigerians who had lost faith in good governance and the dividends of democracy in Nigeria, their homeland.
Sen. Anthony Adefuye, a Federal Republic of Nigeria senator who represented Lagos East Senatorial District in 1992, empathizes with the struggles of Nigerians, especially the less privileged and the physically and visually challenged. After patronizing products displayed at the exhibition for encouragement, Distinguished Sen. Adefuye assured everyone that the subsidy palliatives intended for these voiceless disabled Nigerians would reach them accordingly. He also promised to collaborate with NAFDAC to reduce the registration fee for their products.
A staunch member and stakeholder of the ruling political party APC, Sen. Adefuye emphasized in his brief interview with INSIGHT GLOBAL NEWS Editor, "I am glad that I came. Nigerians are talented and very creative; we need to encourage and provide accessible funds to develop their skills. We will also address the exorbitant NAFDAC registration fee, aiming for a minimal fee of at least ₦5,000.00, to enable them to be CEOs in their own small way. The government will support them as well as able small scales business and medium business owners"
The 4th Edition of the BEADY WORLD MEDIA BUSINESS SUMMIT AND FAIR, held at Radisson Blu, Ikeja, was remarkable. Prominent Nigerians such as former NTA DG Mrs. Onma Odeleye, Chief Leonard Okafor, Dr. Doris Anite, Jolomi George, and others were honored with awards. Mr. Tunde Fasanya of SMEDAN, Prof. Moji Adeyeye of NAFDAC, Dr. Kamlesh Jain, and others served as special guest speakers.
The Business Summit and Fair, an annual exhibition promoting the longevity of Nigerian businesses, including the physically challenged, is the brainchild of Nigeria's foremost journalist, author, and advocate, Beatrice Chinyere Nnanna, fondly called 'BEADY.'
