*ASSOCIATION OF AWORI INTELLECTUALS URGES PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU TO CONSIDER AWORIS FOR MINISTERIAL APPOINTMENT*
The Association of Awori Intellectuals is calling upon President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider a candidate from the Awori community of the Ogun West Senatorial District for a ministerial position in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This appeal is based on the outstanding performance of the Local Government (Ado-Odo/Ota) at the last Presidential elections. Undoubtedly, the Aworis secured the highest number of votes among all other local governments in the entire South West region. Also, it should be given utmost attention in the spirit of fairness, and for political equations and balancing in Ogun State.
As an association committed to the advancement and welfare of the Awori people, we take immense pride in the continuous support the Awori people have shown towards President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his political party. Our unwavering trust and confidence in his leadership were evident during the recent election, where the Awori people demonstrated their overwhelming vote in favor of the President and his party.
To reward this exceptional support and as a means of achieving political equations and balancing, the Association of Awori Intellectuals firmly believes that it is time for the Awori community to be adequately represented at the national level. We urge President Tinubu to consider an Aworis for a ministerial position in his forthcoming cabinet.
The Awori community prides itself on its highly skilled and competent individuals, who possess the required qualifications and experience for ministerial appointments. By appointing an Awori indigene to a ministerial position, President Tinubu has an opportunity to not only recognize the contributions of the Awori people but also foster inclusivity and diversity in government decision-making processes.
Furthermore, we emphasize the importance of political equations and balancing within Ogun State. The appointment of an Awori candidate would contribute to social-economic development and promote political harmony, fostering unity among the diverse communities in the state.
In a statement signed by the Association President, Olasunkanmi Akapo, "The Association of Awori Intellectuals sincerely hopes that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will give our appeal due consideration. We are confident that his support in appointing an Awori candidate will serve as a catalyst for greater community engagement and further enhance the progress and unity of Nigeria".
