My friend, Alaagba Segun Moshood Oseni transited to the celestial world on Sunday, June 25th, 2023. He was buried on Monday, June 26th, 2023 in accordance with Islamic rites. The attendance was impressive, it cuts across religious and ethnic inclinations.
Alaagba Oseni was a man of the people, as a Peace Ambassador. He related very seamlessly.
The fridhau event of today was fantastic, as creme de la creme graced the occasion. It was a special way to honour the deceased and and a rare opportunity to say a dignified good bye to our distinguished son of IsonyinIjebu, Ogun State.
While alive, he held people in high esteem and today was a payback time for him because asegbe kan ko si, asepamo lo wa.
The Islamic clerics took turns to eulogized Alaagba Oseni on his satisfactory conduct as Omoluaabi. He was a devouted Muslim despite his foray into Yoruba cultural investigative journalism. He was an Historian Excursionist, which did not clash with his Islamic faith. Not a member of any known or unknown cults. But, rather a painstaking inquisitive Historian. He cuts across board.
The sermons by the clerics were about obedience to our Creator, our conduct and religious deliverance of Allah 's declarations as proclaimed by Prophet Muhammad (SAW,,) for Allah 's Messagers to enter Paradise. They emphasized that we must train our children very well. They challenged Alaagba Oseni's children not to deviate from their father's pathways and must take good care of their mother and the legacies he left behind.
The memorial gathering in honour of the deceased was fantastic and a good reference point for others to strive for.
