 19TH ANNUAL GANI FAWEHINMI LECTURE ; 'GANI WAS A CRUSADER OF THE MASSES WHO STILL STAND TALL EVEN IN DEATH' --  SEYI OLAWUNMI ESQ

January 15th of every year has come to stay,! Aside been a remembrance day for Nigerian falling heros, it also signifieses  Late Chief Abdul- Ganiu Oyesola Fawehinmi  call to The Nigerian Bar Association in 1965, so it  a routine,  which is already part of all activist , masses,  concerned media personnels who believe in Gani's struggles as well as NBA and Ikeja -Tiger branch to assembled in honour of this great legal Icon who used his profession to fight for  Nigeria masses till his last breath in 2009. 

Lahl Event Hall at Airport hotel was filled to the  brim with participants for January 15th,  ,19th Annual Gani Fawehinmi Lecture with the - THEME: "  A FREE, FAIR AND CREDIBLE ELECTION; AN INDISPENSABLE TOOL FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT "  It was a day of accolade for the late Legal Icon as the Chairman organising committee NBA Ikeja Branch Mr Oluwaseyi Olawunmi mounted the podium eulogizing Late Chief Abdul-Ganiu Oyesola Fawehinmi as a social crusader ,  senior advocate of the masses , friend of the destitutes who set a day aside to celebrate the pauper,  an uncommon defender of the defendless  whose words was his bond, Gani was a thorn on Nigeria government's flesh for fairness, equity and Justice  and  he was ready to face.any consequences including imprisonment. Gani changed the status of Nigerian legal Practitioning by introducing  Nigeria weekly law report . Host Olawunmi ESQ  concluded by saying Gani still stand tall even in death for he is the only legal Icon that is consistently celebrated in Nigeria.

Professor Akin Oyebode in his lengthy speech could not but took the audience down the memory lane of his robust  rapport with late Gani Fawehinmi and how he was incaserated for over 60 times before his demise.

   Mrs Charlotte Kesson- Smith Osei the keynote speaker from Ghana  gave an incisive analysis towards Nigeria forthcoming general election with lots of comparison between Nigeria and then Gold- Coast government.

  Mrs Smith- Osei rounded up her speech by  imploring The Nigeria Bar Association under the leadership of Mr Y. C Maikyau ( SAN) to be fully involve in the February forthcoming general election by setting up a committee which will see to the fairness of the election for the people votes must count as the Bar must be a light , for the Bar must stand for the truth! 

At the 19th  annual Gani Fawehinmi lecture  legal Icons in attendance were ;   Mr Olumide Akpata.former NBA President, Dr Muiz Banire, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN).who as.well  represented Gov. Sanwoolu of Lagos state, Incubent NBA President Mr Y. Maikyau, Hon. Mike Igini,Mike Ozekoime, Commodore Kunle Olawunmi, Dr. Mrs Idayat Fawehinmi, members Nigeria Bar Association NBA Ikeja Branch to mention but few.

Activists, CDHR, with  solidarity chants and slogans also made year 2023 Gani Fawehinmi annual Lecture a memorable one.
