" DEATH TRAPS" -- OGUN RESIDENTS

It is alarming, very worrisome how accidents victims, women during delivery, children and teens with one health challenges or another lost their lives ignorantly because they knew not which is which ! I mean difference between a certified medical practitioner and a quack! Mrs Esther Ojo whose husband died  12 years ago affairmed this to Insightmagonline News Editor.

After a recent press briefing with the Association of Nigeria Private Medical Practitioners ( ANPMP) under the leadership of  Dr. Olukayode Oyelade (, Chairman ANPMP Ogun state) , Dr. Seye Olufunsho, Ota ANPMP  Zonal Chairman as well as the secretary ANPMP Ogun state in person of Dr. Akin Oyejoko  regards prolifirations of quacks which has led and still leading to  countless loss of lives ,  high rate of maternal mortality  especially in Ifo, Owode ,  Yewa, Idiiroko , Ota, Shagamu, Mowe, Ibafo , Ijebu waterside and some rural areas of Ogun state.  INSIGHTMAGONLINE NEWS Editor Oluwatoyin Mathnuel took it as a point of dutie  to speak with residents regards this menace. 

A retired school teacher in her early 60s Madam Esther Ojo could not but first of everything blamed the federal and the  state government for not doing enough for the certified medical practitioners either Private or government set up and because there is no enough hand in medical line as most certified doctors leave Nigeria for greener pastures on daily basis,  these "mushrooms" clinics, maternity homes,or hospitals springs up! 

There are accessable private hospitals here in Ota that are not expensive, these private facilities give enough attention than even   the government general hospitals or clinics Mama Ojo continued  but through ignorant or nonchalant actituded  lots lost their lives just like how my husband  was killed by a quack doctor 12 years ago. " It was very painful, I blamed him for taking such step but it was too late"  Mama Ojo concluded emotionally !

An anonymous from Ifo in  Ogun state  could not hold back his tears as he narrated how he lost his only son ignorantly to a quack who claimed to be a doctor years back.

Iya Ajike has fondly called , a trader could not but thank God for Ajike's life as Ajike was revived by a certified medical  Doctor in Ota Axis after a quack who had been chased from the community by angered residents  twiddled  with her daughter's life during pregnancy. She said this in Yoruba dialect and I quote ". Mo dupe Olorun ko je ki ayederu dokita gba Ajike lowo mi, Opelope Olorun ati  Dr.----- ti won ni hospital----.  ki Ijoba jowo bawa ko awon ayederu dotita kuro nile, won ti po ju ni lu , paapaa ladugbo wa yii" she concluded.

As Iya Ajike is imploring Ogun state government to take the bull by horn , make enough arrest of fake doctors and shut down their death traps, other residents that spoke with  Insightmagonline News Crew also seek  intervention of Ogun state government  most especially Commissiner  for health Dr. Mrs Tomi Coker as well as Ogun state Ministry of Health by creating public awareness and set up a task force commitee to checkmate, make arrest of fake doctors , nurses claiming to be  general medical practitioners as well clamp down mushrooms health facilities in  Ogun state and it's environs for quackery has done a lot of harms to most residents !
