The outcome of the election in Osun State is a clear signpost of what would be in the 2023 general elections, former Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu has said.
He said the Osun people have redeemed the image of the Peoples Democratic Party from the clutches of usurpers and impostors who had hoisted themselves on the State through stolen mandates since 2015 via election rigging and contentious Court ruling.
Reacting to the resounding victory of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the just concluded State governorship election, Babangida Aliyu in a press statement issued by his Director, media and communication, Bala B. B said Osun people have shown how dodged and committed they were in affirming their choice over sham and attempts at electoral manipulations by the ruling All Progressives Congress-led government in the State and at the centre.
He noted that the Osun people have set the pace for other states to emulate especially where victory was stolen from the PDP-led governments.
"The resilience exhibited by the democratic people of Osun, and their indomitable spirit against impunity, brazen acts of daylight robbery, and manipulations since 2015 is highly commendable" Mu'azu Babangida added.
Dr. Babangida Aliyu while congratulating the Governor-elect, Sen. Adeleke, commended the conscientious people of Osun who stood their ground and voted out the governing party.
He applauded the Osun people who despite glaring acts of intimidation, manipulations, and voter instigation, stood their ground and voted out the governing party.
The former Governor enjoined citizens across the country to take a cue from the Osun people and vote for the Peoples Democratic Party in next year's general election just as he expressed hope the opposition Peoples Democratic Party would bounce back to power and form the next government at both the centre and States across the country.
