During his time on earth ,he was globally revered . Indeed Sir  Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill, KG, OM, CH, TD, DL, FRS, RA the British statesman who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945, during the Second World War, and again from 1951 to 1955 still has many of his words documented

Once he spoke of courage , arguing that 

"Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen"

Such can no doubt be said of the irrepressible political juggernaut called Ezenwo Nyesom CON, who is also known variously as Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike or Nyesom Wike 

The  Nigerian firebrand politician and lawyer is the sixth and current Governor of Rivers State.

 He is an Ikwerre from Rumuepirikom in Obio-Akpor, Rivers State and his decision to formally declare his intension to run for presidency of Nigeria did not come as a surprise to many 

Popularly called Mr Project, only last night said he doesn’t think anyone is more qualified to become Nigeria’s President other than himself.

Wike, argued that based on his records as Minister as well as the governor of the oil-rich state, he has the requisite experience to govern the country.

In his words " For somebody of my kind and record, a governor and a minister, I don’t even see anybody who will tell me that he is much more qualified than me, I don’t think that is possible,” Wike said.

“Assuming today I want to run for the office of the President, what quality do you think I do not have? Why do you think I cannot provide the right leadership for Nigeria to move forward?

“It is not good for anybody to say ‘my  aspirant is the best of the aspirants. I don’t think so. All I preach is that people should talk on issues. Nigeria has a problem. If they have given you the opportunity, what are you going to do to make sure that Nigerians benefit?”

Besides the 2023 general elections, Governor Wike also spoke about the activities of the immediate past government in Rivers State.

He recalled that when he came into power in 2015, there was no handover note from his predecessor on the true state of affairs in Rivers.

Indeed with such courageous stand, Wike has no doubt heed to the call by his people to go for the big job

Regarded as one of the most pragmatic and result orientated Governor in Nigeria today ,this writer was in Port Hacourt city a while ago and was highly impressed with his works and transformation of the garden city

Now the big question remains: Will Nigerians give him the opportunity to do for the Country,what he has been doing for his State, Rivers?

Perhaps only time will tell
