Southern Conference: Seeking Solutions to Nigeria's Leadership
The leadership a country has plays a pivotal role in its development. Leaders either appointed or elected determine the fate of the economy, education and all issues that relates to its citizens. The Southern Conference convened by Hon. Mutiu Kunle Okunola (MKO) held at the National Secretariat, Lagos from February 12th - 18th, 2022 addressed leadership issues that pertains to our dear nation Nigeria by ARPM (All Referendum People Movement), NRUF (New Reformation Unity Forum) and TNN (Tinubu Non-Negotiable 2023).
Deliberations were made as regards the choice of having a new leadership structure for Nigeria as the movement seeks for the rotation of power after every 5 years which means after 30 years, power will rotate to another region. The movement has her own constitution and believes in one Nigeria and this can be achieved through unity. Since 1960, power is been rotated between two regions - Southwest and the Northwest, hence power must come to the South. For instance, President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua is from Katsina state, President Goodluck Jonathan is from Bayelsa state and President Muhammadu Buhari is from Katsina state. We can see the revolving of power amongst these regions. There are regions that are yet to taste power and yet we say we want equity and happiness amongst ourselves. The Exclusive list can be appropriately developed with personnels dispersed across the nation.
The movement seeks for a President, a Deputy President and six (6) Vice Presidents spread across the six regions of Nigeria for effective rulership over the people.
Power needs to be distributed so as to have uniform development across the nation. The different cultural heritage across the nation calls for different solution. It is expedient that all political parties source for candidates where power is been zoned.
Our movement seeks to solve true image representation of politicians. We can only use Democracy to solve Nigeria's problem through grassroot development. It is only true politicians that can solve Nigeria's problem, hence the essence of our movement which is to raise leaders who have the interest of the people and nation at heart.
Earlier on, we started by producing Chairman, Secretary, Women leader and Youth leader. For instance, we observed that it is only Chairman that is been called to meetings and he keeps the information deliberated to himself and few of his coffers. This is called hierarchy system and we observed that it is failing Nigeria. We had to come up with directorate system in which no one is higher than the other. The directorate seeks to takes care of all aspect of human management and makes us all equal.
This system seeks to build relationships among every national irrespective of their current location.
