Proferring solution to get Nigeria out if its current state has been the heart cry of dutiful citizens and they're ready to do all it takes to make Nigeria great again. Prof. Christopher Imomulen, a 2023 presidential aspirant has decided to speak on the current issues ravaging the nation - education, insecurity and economy, and how to proffer solutions for the betterment of the country.

Prof. Christopher Imomulen is a young rising global academic, oil and gas personnel, President of an NGO, Unique Foundation and proprietor of schools both home and abroad.

How do you intend to fund the capital for your presidential aspiration?

With strategy and the support of Nigerians, funding of my presidential aspiration will be achieved. I believe that for anyone to sanitize the political system, such person must come outside the political system without any influence and get the job done. We know the road will be rough but we trust God who had helped us to be successful in business to help us in the political system. The mandate is to change this country that's why I'm aiming for the top. I'm one of the Nigerians that have travelled the 36 States of Nigeria and has schools spread across the nation and other establishment that have made people financially stable. By 2023, having a leader with charitable heart will go a long way for nation building. I have experience about changing and building things, that's the kind of person Nigeria needs.

What are the solutions you have to solve education related problems and insecurity in the nation?

Nigeria must begin to think from becoming a consuming economy to been a production economy and this can be achieved by ensuring they local manufacturing is adopted, graduates from out institution of learning are trained to become entrepreneurs, setup of a trade department that ensures that all the resources embedded across the states are identified and explored, increasing revenue generation. It's painful to be a citizen of a country where you have to go through hardship to survive. You can't say you're exempted from leadership no matter where you are from. When there is hardship in the land, it affects you irrespective of your ethnicity and religion. It is pertinent to note that you choose leadership over party. Taking a look at fuel scarcity caused by the supply of adulterated fuel, what happens to the petroleum supply chain? How did the fuel get into the nation? I have to ensure that Nigerians do not suffer enormous hardship that can be averted. Moreso, Nigeria needs to have a fuel reserve.

The security challenge is further strengthened by the hardship, the cost of commodity has been tripled and the cost of living. When hardship comes upon a nation, irrespective of ethnicity and religion, we all feel it. It's high time for upcoming Nigerian leaders to start thinking about how these challenges can be fixed.

In terms of unemployment, we have over 40 million underemployed Nigerians. This is as much as three West African countries combined together. In 2050, Nigeria's population will be 1 billion, the challenge is that we are unprepared. We need to have a foresight and be prepared to handle whatever comes out way and make the best out of it.

To curb insecurity, hardship needs to be eradicated by creating jobs need to be created, provision of basic amenities.

Education is a necessary tool that ensures humans function properly. The leaders must see that education is important for every Nigerian as it is for national development. We must be educated to change this nation and have a global competitive edge. Nigeria can only be built by Nigerians not by importing citizens from other countries. In this present administration, ASUU has been on strike for over 14 months. When there is a cut in the education system, it affects the generation ahead.

One of our aim is to ensure the drastic reduction in price of commodity such as food which is a basic human need and have access to health insurance.

EDUCATION

Nigeria taking its place as regards leading Africa can only be achieved through responsible leadership. 2023 is nearby, the citizens need to start thinking about the kind of leader that will be elected. Nigeria's education system is archaic while the global education system is digitalized. With the digitalization of education, government can have quality education run cheaply hence, the education sector needs to be revamped so that we can have a good taste of quality education.

License for Education should not be given to people with business mentality. If people with business mentality get educational license, they'll sell certificates. Additionally, corruption in education is deep as far as the 1970's, parents sit for their children and institution encourage corruption. As I earlier said, the body language of the government is important - a leader who hates corruption and a good judicial system in place. When there is no effective penalty for crime it's going to be a free walk for everyone. Buhari's intention to fight for corruption was the reason why people voted him into power believing he was going to accomplish it. But a lot of things happened around him that he has no control over. We are going to be fighting corruption head-on, although there will be backlash but on the long run, Nigerians will appreciate it.

Nigerians need to be educated to a certain level where we can solve our problems ourselves. First and foremost, the pending issue between the government and ASUU must be solved. It is important that government officials patronize local Nigerian universities. For insecurity, this is given birth to as a result of hardship that's why ritual killing, kidnapping and the likes are prevalent. Government needs to create jobs, make the environment conducive for businesses to thrive. For instance, constant power supply will double the number of employed persons and they will be encouraged to work more.

For fuel scarcity, there's monopoly in the petroleum industry. We have to encourage more investors and the supply chain system should be checked and our refineries should be revived to make fuel available.

The reward system for civil servants need to be revived. Patriotic citizens who served the nation are finding it hard to get their pension and they're dying in penury. Moreso, the youths need to be engaged for innovative invention to be birthed. If the government can think about welfare.

About the Insecurity, when do you think all these security problem will come to an end and how you tend to curb it?

Insecurity is a very complex issue and it must be tackled one after the other. The armed forces reform is key, they must be well trained, encouraged and motivated to discharge their duties. In every nook and cranny of Nigeria, cultism exists. Some security agents are parts of them and parents also encourage children to commit crime. The body language of the government will curb a lot of crime such as cultism, robbery and the likes. When people travel out of Nigeria, they behave themselves well because of the system that is in place such as prompt judgement over unlawful acts. Hence, our security and judicial system needs to be strengthened.
