2022 Budget: Agege LG to boost revenue for sustainable community development

Alhaji Ganiyu Egunjobi, the Executive Chairman Agege Local Government in Lagos State has said that the council would fast track action to boost internal generated revenue to increase sustainable community development.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Egunjobi disclosed this during a Three Day Annual Budget Retreat held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
According to him, it is pertinent we develop a balanced approach and strategy to get result from now on.
"We are going to fast track action to boost revenue on sustainable basis be it on short medium or long time basis," he said.
The chairman said he wanted a fusion of ideas to revamp all sectors of infrastructure, project and programmes.
He said he wanted to enjoin the staff to continually rally support for the administration through collaborative initiative in order to bring succour to the residents.
Egunjobi said that the budget retreat was an opportunity to crystallise visions, aggregating strength and resources for optimum result.
According to him, revenue is the lifeblood of any socioeconomic development, as it will be pursue with collaborations to accelerate growth.
"No excuse will be tolerated this time around as the council will provide necessary tools and logistics to perform your duties," he added.
The council boss also said that the local government was designing comprehensive master plan of action to realise the council's potentials.
"This is a platform for designing roadmap and blueprint for successful budget implementation.
"Various contributions are germaine to achieving our set objectives and goals.
This implies that we must be insightful in exploiting and exploring viable alternatives and options to integrate innovative techniques to drive prosperity through enhanced collaborations," he said.
Egunjobi however urged the staff to be focus as he was optimistic and believe that the outlook was very bright for year 2022 as he wanted to achieve the set goals through excellence.
He added that he appreciated their various supportive roles and contributions with tireless commitments to the progress and success of the administration. (NAN)
