Apatira Flags Off 2Weeks Summer Holiday Skill Acquisition Program
The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira declared open the 2 weeks summer holiday skill acquisition and vocational training program in Collaboration with Speed-Up Lagos at the council secretariat on Tuesday, 10th August, 2021.
While reiterating his commitment to empowering and engaging youths in the communities, Dr. Apatira stated that, his Administration had engaged seasoned instructors for this year's edition of the program to admit participants in the following practical classes; Home Essential Items Production, Catering and Food Production, Make-Up Techniques, Fashion and Souvenir Items, Digital Marketing, Cutting of Nylon, Barbing, Event Planning and Decoration, and Printing and Customizing, Cosmetology.
According to The Chairman, "The best students in each category will benefit from the Itire-Ikate Empowerment Scheme; provision of startup funds and trade equipments to the top of the classes."
Stiff compliance with the directive of the State Government for caution in the wake of the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic was reiterated by Dr. Apatira while urging residents to strictly observe necessary precautions, As staff and all visitors to all Itire-Ikate LCDA facilities who fail to wear their face masks shall not allow access to the premises.
The Itire-Ikate LCDA Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Department, which is the coordinating department intimated that their will be three sessions; 9am-11am; 11am-1pm and 1pm-3pm to coordinate the over 400 participants registered for various classes, and adhere to the social distancing and other COVID-19 preventive directives of the state government.
