 FOURTH EDITION SOUTHWEST SECURITY STAKEHOLDERS CONFERENCE .

THEME: STEMMING THE TIDE OF INSECURITY IN SOUTHWEST, NIGERIA,  A CRIMINOLOGY THERAPY!

Of recent it was a gathering of security intellectual at The Southwest Security Stakeholders Group held at Abeokuta, Ogun state capital where the deficiency of Nigeria Insecurity couple with solutions especially in the Southwest had to be sorted out by the attendees: like The  OPCs , the Amotekuns, Vigilantes group,local hunted, the Agbekoyas the Yoruba Youths Congress each with their various coat of arms at the 4th edition of such gatherings which has moved round all the Yoruba speaking states and by God's willing to be held at Kwara state said Iba Gani Adams the convener. His speech as the Areonakakanfo of Yoruba land was nothing but an outrage of bluntness! 

" You can't thrive in areas of high level of insecurity. Such is the case of the North West and North Central region of Nigeria because fear won't allow you to move freely. The level of insecurity in Nigeria's geopolitical zones is alarming but it's been curtailed. 

he state of insecurity in South West has been reduced a little due to the harmonization of the South West governors which gave birth to a security outfit known as Amotekun. 

With Amotekun in place, there's still security threat hence the need for us to gather ourselves and strategize together. As a result, SSSG came into being in 2019. 

At a meeting held at the Lagos State Chamber of Commerce, a communique was issued to every local government chairman and councillors to harmonize this plan with the police officer and other security outfit on ground.

Although, that's not enough, hence we need to call for a strategic meeting quarterly i.e. every three months in different states. This meeting has held in Lagos State, Osun State and Oyo State. Today, the meeting is holding in Ogun State. Ondo State and Ekiti State will be held at a later date.

The meeting is aimed at discussing solutions to security issue in Yoruba land not politics. The newly created SSSG group has not been created overshadow Oodua People's Congress (OPC) or Vigilante Group, we all stand as one. Also, the primary responsibility of any government is to protect lives and properties of its citizens.

The Yoruba people have paid over three billion Naira as ransom and over 200 lives has been lost in the past 3-4 years. Hence, the reason for this strategy meeting that is holding today "

The hall was filled to the brim under the tutorlage of Pro. Gbenga Akingbehin of Department of Public law, University of Lagos, ACP Bolanle Muritala who represented Ogun state CP, ,Olu of Owode Egba , including Alake of Egba land representative, notable Ogun state Baales , chiefs and concerns Oodua descendants like the Agbekoyas governors who believe Yoruba Security is very Paramount, it is hightime non negotiable !
