The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Solidarity Vanguard felicitate with the family of Dr Tunji Bello on the celebration of the 60th birthday of a quintessential achiever and ICON.
Dr Tunji Bello is an environmentalist, political scientist, accomplished journalist and a lawyer. He was born on July 1, 1961. He holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Political Science from the University of Ibadan which he obtained in 1984 in addition to a Masters in International Law Diplomacy ML.D in 1987 from the University of Lagos. Bello is also a Barrister at Law (BL) qualifying from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos in 2001 having graduated with an LL.B Hons Bachelors of Law from the prestigious University of Lagos in the year 2000.
Dr TUNJI Bello is a political activist and a pro-democracy advocate who all through the period for the revalidation of the stolen mandate of Bashorun M.K.O Abiola was in the dungeon with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other NADECO chieftains and activists. His activism days dated back to the University of Ibadan when he was the Vice-President of the Students Union. He joined This Day newspaper in 2000 as Chairman of its Editorial Board and left in 2003 to serve under the administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Commissioner for the Environment.
He also served as the Commissioner for Environment under Governor Babatunde Fashola and Secretary to the Government of Lagos state under Governor Akinwumi Ambode.
Dr TUNJI BELLO is a core member of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu political clan and has participated actively in the conceptualisation, planning, execution and consolidation of the master plan of the mega city plan of Lagos state.
Dr TUNJI Bello is currently the commissioner for environment and water resources under the incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwoolu.
He has won many award in the field of journalism and was a former chairman of the editorial board of This Day newspaper
The Vanguard wishes his wife Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, a former Deputy Vice- Chancellor of the Lagos State University, the children and all his family a blossom moment of celebration of their patriarch who has given more to make the world a better place. We wish the celebrant many more years of prosperity and merritorious services to mankind.
