Question: As a resident of Agege, kindly shed light on the May 29, Agege primary elections.
Response: The Agege Local Government Primary elections was credible, free and fair. The people conducted themselves well in which I was happy.
Question: On the day of election, Agege residence insisted no elections but imposition. What can you say about it?
Response: This is democracy and it is allowed for people to oppose who they want to oppose. At last, majority carry the vote. It showed that Egunjobi is Agege Local Government people choice. Hence, he won the primary elections.
Question: You insisted that Egunjobi, the incumbent Chairman won the election. The contestants says 'No elections and 'there's this hearsay that it was an imposition, What can you say on this?
Response: This is democracy. I might be minority, not having 10-20% but I can inject voice, give them money to carry placards that they don't want the winner. This happens in politics and there is no aspirant that can win 100% during elections. But the majority carry the vote.
Question: If the Chairman has done well, will the Deputy run against him during the primary elections?
Response: The Deputy isn't satisfied with the position he is in. In democracy, it is allowed to run against anybody, in this case running against the Chairman. From the beginning, it might be that he's not supporting the Chairman or maybe the Deputy doesn't play his role well. Moreso, nobody in this world can satisfy people. When you talk of development, there is practical implementation in Agege due to the activeness of Egunjobi. What he has done is just the starting and I'm sure he's going to do better. Hence, Egunjobi should be given 2nd term.
Question: What will you say about Obasa applying for Senate position?
Response: Obasa is the man of the people and for the people. He has good records, a 2-time leader and he's doing well. That's why people are behind him because of the job he's doing. People support you and vote for you when you do well. Hence, he can contest for any position be it President, Senate President, Governor and the likes. To be a Speaker in Lagos is not a joke. He has right to contest for any position and people will support him with 100% votes.
Question: As the APC Chieftain and Agege breed, has any Arewa ever been part of Agege Chairmanship cabinet ?
Response: The Arewa's do not have it yet and we don't fight for it because everything has time. When the time comes, we won't be the one to demand for it, we will be called for it. With patience and loyalty, you'll achieve your goal.
Question: Agege residence and Chairmanship candidates in the Primary were grieved saying there was no election in the seven wards in Agege due to violence but you said it was a credible election.
Response: Nobody can say that! There are oppositions whom we know that dressed in sheep clothing to destroy the good works of the APC that have been done. The Agege elections is a credible one which I urge other Loca Government and Local Development Councils to uphold. There was no loss of life or injury recorded. You do not need to listen to the rumours been propagated.
Question: You said the Agege primary election was credible, free and fair but Egbeyemi and his men were on ground to calm down caorse and journalists witnessed electoral materials littered on the ground. Could it be because Egunjobi is your man?
Response: I'm a politician. I belong to everybody. If people try to formulate trouble and Egbeyemi came around to instill peace there, that is his own work. We don't know who instigated violence and destroyed electoral materials. Maybe those who lost and always love to make complaints were behind this perpetration.
Question: What will you say about APC members trying to defect to another party?
Response: There's no other party in Lagos apart from APC. Though there are oppositions, but they are not performing. No one hears about them.
Question: What will be your advice to aggrieved APC Chairmanship candidates and loyal members regards May 29, Primary elections?
Response: I will advise everyone, especially the losers should accept defeat. People should be very careful checking for their career and not allow selfish interest take over them. Those in government should also take care of their followers, they should be kind and care for them. It's the same party we're working for, let's live in unity and understanding. Anybody has the right to decamp to any party, but there is no party like APC. We should not use our hand to destroy what we've worked for ourselves.
