RAMADAN INTERVIEW WITH THE GRAND -CHIEF IMAM TAJUDEEN SHAFFI OF SANGO AND IT'S ENVIRONS HUMBLY REPRESENTED BY HIS SPOUSE ALHAJA GANIYAT ADUNNI SHAFFI.
-- Alhaja , Ramadan Mubarak ma!
-- Thank you so much!
-- What does Ramadan entails?
-- Thank you ! To me , Ramadan is a time of total submission to Almighty Allah, a time to repent, a time to do away with all evil, to keep away from all formation of sins and a time to be very close to God in prayers.
- Ma, you said to do away with all evil, so after Ramadan one can still go back to evil acts?
-- No! This is where the lectures from The Holy Quran by Muslims clerics comes in, teaching and a way of impacting knowledge on every one not only the Muslims because the lecture gives you the insight of what it entails to be a Muslim indeed. Islam is a religion of peace , so before or after Ramadan a staunch Muslim is not expected to do something that will raise questions or eyebrows within the family, society or in a country. God says " Do not steal" is not that God keeps money somewhere to steal, " Do not commit adultery' God do not have a wife to fornicate with, is all for your own safety and good health. During Ramadan you keep away from eating junks , example is drinking of anything alcoholic, if you will agree with me that most beer parlours are almost empty during Ramadan. A Muslim indeed is not expected to drink anything alcoholic, if you do, there are lots of cleansing prayers , that such person will perform before been able to seek Allah's face. Ramadan makes you feel what the paupers, the poor and the desolate feels because you having abundant may not care about others but with Ramadan , you will feel the pain of your next neighbor who does not have enough to eat in the morning talkless of at night. Ramadan makes you look healthy and fitted because you deny your body from any sort of intacts. During and after Ramadan a Muslim indeed need to fulfil all righteousness inorder to be worthy of Allah 's abundant blessings and immeasurable mercy and favour. Sincerely yours, Ramadan is more than fasting because it won't allow you to hurt your fellow human being, it.allows you to feel what the next neighbor whom you careless about feel. I am imploring all Muslims to continue in this same spirit after Ramadan because it is beneficial to us even than God himself , there is no point engaging in something that will deprive you of Aljahnah. I wish Ramadan to be a continuous practice so Muslims and every other person can be conscious of what it takes to know God.
--- Alhaja is fasting during Ramadan compulsory?
--- Well, God is so merciful to all, Allah is a merciful God. Ramadan has rules and regulations :.If you are sick, nobody should compel you to fast during Ramadan is not compulsory for people with health challenges, there is a clause in fasting for those who do not have a sound health , if any one is saying yes, please say NO! because health is wealth! A pregnant woman is not compel to fast during Ramadan though some pregnant women can stand it but it depends on the pregnancy stage. A little child below seven years of age should not be allow to fast during Ramadan, an aged person can fast during Ramadan if he or she wishes but it is not compulsory. Fasting during Ramadan is not a do or die affairs, it is just like Tarahu ( Tarahu is the prayer you observe after breaking of fast ) Tarahu is good , it is a sort of Nafilah to boost the fasting but it is not compulsory , qoute me anywhere! Prophet Mohamed is a good example of non compulsion of Tarahu has we were told and heard in the Holy Quran. You don't do anything to impress God, Allah is not concern about your outwardness , God deals with your inner being, whom you really are!
--Thank you so much Alhaja for this enlightenment! In conclusion ma, your advice to Muslims during this Ramadan!
---- During this Ramadan and after, let us be close to God more than ever, let us pray for the peace of our country Nigeria, let us observes all compulsory prayer sections of Islam , let us be kind to one another in our little way and what so ever you forgo during Ramadan please let it remain bygone , Muslims should not go back to his or her vomits after Ramadan. God in His infinity Mercy will give us life here and there after INSHALLAH!
