The Civil Societies' Memorial Committee held Solidarity day of Tributes held in honour of Yinka Odumakin.
The event was held at Oduduwa Hall, Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Osun State while the fraternal Solidarity, Night of Musical Gyration and Tributes took place at Ife Grand Resorts. The venues were donated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Temitope Ogunbodede and Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II respectively.
At the event, the Vice Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Prof Ogunbodede Eyitope, announced the lifting of the ban on students unionism in the university.
Dr Olusegun Mimiko, the Chairman of the Solidarity Evening of Tributes addressed members at the Oduduwa Hall in the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.
Yinka Odumakin was a former PRO of the institution during his student days. He was once dismissed from school for criticising the administration of then military president, General Ibrahim Babangida.
Dignitaries present at the event were former governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, Comrade Waheed Lawal, Comrade Segun Mayegun, Oba Abiodun Sowunmi, Comrade Shina Akinpelu, Comrade Jubril Ogundimu and others in attendance.
