ODE-OMU IN THE NEWS - SECURITY WATCH.....
The agrarian town of Ode-Omu, Osun State is in the news for the right reasons. The issue of security is never a tea party affairs right from the onset.
Now that criminal activities have become a daily occurences with score of victims in all nooks and corners nationwide. Hence, eternal vigilance becomes order of the day irrespectively.
Ode-Omu in Aiyedaade Local Government Area of Osun State takes securities issues very serious with determined efforts to complement the security architecture mounted by the State Government with a view to curb the scourge from extending its tentacles beyond the elbows.
On Saturday, March 27th, 2021 one of the locals - Taiwo Inaolaji Adediran from Abese Olosunde Compound, Ode-Omu was installed as the OluOde for the Ijugbe Quarters, as Chief Oguntoye Eruku inscribed the chieftaincy leaves (Ewe Akoko) on the head of the new OluOde as customary demands.
Retrospectively, there are four quarters within the town and their OluOdes namely> Chief Joseph Olubisi (Lagere), Chief Agbeela Alani (Oke-Esho), Chief Abayo Okanola (Amola) and Chief Taiwo Inaolaji Adediran ( Ijugbe). One Chief Salami Bello was assigned to oversee The Igbira Settlement and its axis.
It is on record that these Oluodes under the headship of Chief Joseph Olubisi were approved by The Alaiyegun of Ode-Omu HRH Oba Bolarinwa Oladipupo (Idi-Asa 1) for the security of the township and its environs. Its a painstaking tradition which has been of essence to the oneness of the town over the years. The challenge is for all to.embrace holistically.
Therefore, the Native Hunters with their respective OluOdes and in collaboration with the other related Security Agencies protect their respective locations with seriousness for the inhabitants to be at peace of minds and not sleeping with one eye closed due to insecurity phenomenon. Criminals are warn to steer clear from the ancient town or take the risk at their own peril. The proactive steps are positively impactful. No wonder the town is experiencing monumental developments. It presently hosts a very solid private university, a National College of Education and privately owned as well, among others. The scale is on the rise.
So, why wouldnt security measures take a centre stage in the calculations of the Council of Elders who are sons and daughters of the town?
The inhabitants accept the fact that the issues of security is a collective responsibility for all and sundry. Ode-Omu abhor peace of the graveyard.
This platform wishes the new OluOde and his contemporaries a successful tenure in the offices. They deserve our unflinching supports from time to time for regular rejigging of the security network for good effect.
May our ancestors provide the right pathways for them to be able to discharge their duties effectively and effeciently without fare or favour. May our Kabiyesi continue to reign peacefully and long in good health.
We congratulate The Alaiyegun HRH Oba Bolarinwa Oladipupo (Idi-Asa1) and his Council-of-Chiefs for being proactive.
